# Import a JSON file

Bun natively supports `.json` imports.

```json package.json icon="file-json" theme={null}
{
  "name": "bun",
  "version": "1.0.0",
  "author": {
    "name": "John Dough",
    "email": "john@dough.com"
  }
}
```

Import the file like any other source file.

```ts data.ts icon="https://mintcdn.com/bun-1dd33a4e-farm-15490b5d-test-done-error-hook/dtyJFOORXktpqgAt/icons/typescript.svg?fit=max&auto=format&n=dtyJFOORXktpqgAt&q=85&s=d88c07e26cef48a230df2faee376b314" theme={null}
import data from "./package.json";

data.name; // => "bun"
data.version; // => "1.0.0"
data.author.name; // => "John Dough"
```
